I'm wondering how much lateral and vertical forces can be put on a T-bolt mounted in a track like this? Mostly the lateral forces worry me.
These tracks have been tested to the extent with any RAM Track mounts and components, where when tested in beyond extreme conditions to the point of failure, the mount is what fails before the track. The composite in the Top-Loading track is made of glass filled nylon which makes it incredibly rigid, and even more so when installed with reinforced hardware integrated throughout the track system.
As long as the Top-Loading track is being used with RAM components and no third party track/T-bolt systems, the track is designed to outperform the mount itself. If you are not using RAM components then we would suggest contacting support@rammount.com and we will do our best to evaluate the unique application. Also worth noting that like all RAM mounting components, the Top-Loading Tough-Tracks are backed by a lifetime warranty.
