Questions & Answers
Have a Question?
-
Once the rod is put in place, would it move as far as positioning of the rod. I am attaching a razor on the other end and would have slight pressure .
Yes, You can reposition once they are in place. It is a medal rod so it will take some force but definitly bendable and sturdy.
-
Is this meant to only be bent once or twice or can you switch between say left and right passengers. Or, will this eventually break from bending?
We do suggest to keep the repositioning to a minimum to prevent any breaking. If you do have problems with this please reach out to us here at SUPPORT@RAMMOUNT.COM or fill out our warranty form:
-
How do you bend the “flex Rod” it’s very sturdy? Is there a shorter version this one seems quite long?
The 18" is our shortest flex rod. You can bend by putting against something very sturdy and you will have to put force behind it to get your desired position.
-
When you go and bend flex rod into position that you like, how stiff is the flex rod?
The flex rod typically requires 3 point contact to reposition. Most people either bend the rod over their knee or the edge of something stable like the edge of a table. It is very stiff to bend and shape.
-
Whats the flex rod diameter?
The Flex rod has a .5" diameter.
-
Could the rod be cut down to a shorter size or would that cause a problem attaching the socket connectors? I'd like to use this with an action camera on a motorcycle but I'm concerned that 18" of flex rod might cause too much movement at speed.
The flex rod portion is simply a 1/2" aluminum rod so the length can certainly be cut down as needed. However, we do not recommend extensions like these to be mounted to a motorcycle or any applications that involve high speeds or extreme environments. For mounting cameras on a motorcycle we only recommend standard double ball mounts (Base + Arm + Camera Ball).
