Overview
The large version of the RAM® Torque™ handlebar mounting base features a 1" B size RAM® rubber ball and is compatible with rails 1 1/8” to 1 1/2" in diameter. Sizing inserts are included to provide a tight fit while also protecting the mounting surface. The large RAM® Torque™ mounting base also includes nylon-insert lock nuts to prevent loosening in high vibration environments.

Is this a good choice for oddly shaped or oblong rails?
No, this base will work best on a perfectly cylindrical rail.

Do I put the adhesive side of the 3M tape onto the mounting surface, or does it adhere to the inside of the mount collar with the rubber side against the mounting surface?
We recommend placing the rubber adhesive strip on the inside of the collar or inserts to avoid leaving adhesive residue on the mounting surface when the large torque rail base is removed or adjusted.

I need to buy some spare Rubber Adhesive Strip. I remember the one supplied was a 3M VHB tape, but I need the specific code for the tape (there are tens of different 3M VHB tapes). I would be grateful if you could specify such a code.
The 3M product used with this part number is 9888T 3M adhesive tape.

The centerline distance between the rail the RAM-B-408-112-15U and the center of the ball is 1.945".
