How much weight can this securely hold? I am looking for a cupholder solution for a 5 lb. fish finder. Will it stay securely in the cupholder with this weight, and will the assembly be sturdy enough?

The weight limit for this cupholder base is 2 pounds, and we do not recommend using a 5 pound fish finder with it. We only have drill-down mounts, rail-mounts or track mounts for a device that heavy. Can the ball be changed to a different size or type?

No, the RAP-B-299-4U is only available with the B size, 1" diameter ball built in.
