This RAM® EZ-Roll'r™ cradle is designed specifically to support various Samsung 10" Galaxy tablets with the RAM® Tough-Case™, including the Tab Active5 Pro, 4 Pro, Tab A 10.1 SM-T510, Tab A7 10.4 SM-T500 and Tab S6 LITE 10.4 SM-P615. The patented RAM® EZ-Roll'r™ design allows you to easily insert the tablet into the holder while keeping it secured in place while on the road. This holder comes with a built-in cooling fan to prevent overheating of the tablet for long term use. Does this holder require the Tough-Case in order to support the tablet?
Yes, the RAM® Tough-Case is required for compatibility with this holder.

How get the Fan the energy for using? USB-C?
The fan included with the Tough Cases like the RAM-HOL-TC-SAM54FU uses an SAE splitter, the RAM-GDS-CAB-SAE-SPLIT. That is connected to one of the hardwire chargers to provide power to both the Tough Case (or Tough Dock) and the fan.
