Troubleshooting Guide

Phone Compatibility - Confirm that your phone does indeed support wireless charging

Case Compatibility - RAM® wireless chargers can support up to a 6mm case thickness and still properly charger your phone. If your phone is in a case, the thickness of the case could be causing interference. To test this, remove your phone from the case and connect to wireless charger directly. If it charges without the case, then this means the case is causing the issue.

Charging Source - The charging source going into your wireless charger could be causing connectivity issues. If this occurs, the light on the side of the charger will be flashing red. See troubleshoot step below if this is the case.

For any issues beyond these factors, please contact RAM® customer support for further assistance: https://rammount.com/pages/support-contact-us

Note: USB Ports built into vehicles do not typically supply efficient power output for charging a phone. When charging in a vehicle it is recommend to use a CLA charger.

1. There is either a problem with the wireless charging holder, or a problem with the charging source connected to the the wireless charger.

2. To test this, use the same charging source with a direct wired connection to your phone and check to see if device is detecting any inadequate or slow charging. This will indicate the charging source is not suitable for connecting a wireless charger.

3. To test if the wireless charger is defective, plug it into a wall charger indoors. Use a wall charger that properly charges your phone with a direct wired connection. If wireless charger works with this wall charger, then the wireless charger is not defective and the problem lies with the charging source.

4. If the wireless charger appears to be defective after taking these steps, contact RAM® customer support here: https://rammount.com/pages/support-contact-us

It is recommended to apply silicone grease to your USB connection to ensure your system is waterproof. To do so, follow the steps shown in this video:

Yes. There will still be a power draw when the device is plugged in and idle.

You will get a similar power draw whether you are plugged into a wall outlet or a vehicle. Given that output power to the puck is the same between a given wall plug and vehicle are the same, the wireless puck will behave the same.
