How long of a screw is needed?
In the resources tab you will see a HAND-TRACK INSTALLATION GUIDE. This will have your suggested screw size.

If this is mounted on a flat surface, what is the distance from that surface to the underside of the track?
There is 1.5" of clearance between the bottom of the track and the flat mounting surface of the Hand-Track end bases of the RAM-TRACK-H12U.

What size are the mounting holes?
The diameter of each mounting hole is 1/4", intended to support a 1/4"-20 screw.
