Overview
The RAM-D-201U-C-MI1, short double socket arm with jam nut, has a socket at both ends that accommodates 2.25" ball bases. A single spring inside the arm opens the end sockets, allowing you to pivot the ball and socket connection. This socket technology allows for almost infinite adjustment and perfect viewing angles.

What is the difference between RAM-D-201U-C-MI1 and RAM-D-201U-C? not clear on what the jam nut does?
The Jam Nut is a built-in security feature inside the knob of your RAM Arm. It can be adjusted with a nut driver and acts as a stop point, so the knob can’t be loosened past where you set it.
You can tighten the Jam Nut so the mount can’t be loosened at all, or leave some flexibility so the knob can still be turned for adjustments without the mount coming apart. For example, many boat owners like using the Jam Nut to keep guests from accidentally loosening the knob on their mount too far and losing parts in the water.
