Questions & Answers

-
I don't see my phone listed in the compatibility section for this cradle. How can I make sure my tablet is compatible before placing an order?
You can find a list of compatible dimensions for this holder in the product information section. If you want to make sure your tablet will fit in this holder you can measure your tablet to make sure it falls within the compatible dimensions.
-
What surfaces is this suction cup compatible with?
Suction cups work by creating a vacuum, so they require an extremely smooth surface. If the surface is textured at all air can get in and the suction cup with loose grip. Suction cup mounts work best against windows and highly polished metal surfaces.
-
Would a phone with a pop socket still work in the x-grip?
No, this will not work with the pop socket; you would need to remove that to use this mount.
-
I noticed my phone can be rotated back and forth about 15 degrees when it is in the X-Grip. Is that normal?
That type of movement is totally normal for the X-Grip. When being used for less rugged applications the small amount of movement allowed is not an issue, but sometimes when traveling at higher speeds or in bumpy environments it can be. If that is causing problems in your application, it is best to use the safety tether which will prevent that type of movement by creating tension between the phone and backplate.
-
Will this work in extreme cold? I live in Alaska and other brands loose their suction when its cold outside and fall off my windshield.
Dramatic temperature swings can cause the seal of the suction cup included in RAM-B-166-UN7U to fail, but if you wipe away any moisture that's collected and re-engage the cam, the suction cup shouldn't have a problem staying put. Extreme cold can cause the softer rubber of the suction cup to become brittle over time.
