What are the dimensions of the writing surface/ what size note pad fits on it?
The dimensions of the writing surface are 4.25" x 7.87". The surface also contains a slot for any 4" x 6.5" notepad to be inserted and held inside instead of utilizing the spring clip.

What does the back of this device look like? How does it connect with other hardware? Screws? Does it have its own attachment point or must there be some intermediary hardware? The description is not clear enough for me.
The RAM-HOL-MP1U has a 4 hole AMPS pattern in the back which matches up with the round plate with ball (RAM-B-202U) which is typically used as the attachment point for that Notepad Holder. The hardware to attach the round plate is included with the Universal Notepad Holder.
