Reading part numbers

The letter after RAM tells you the ball size: RAM-B-166 uses a 1" B ball, while RAM-D-201 uses a 2.25" D ball. C size parts are the exception and carry no letter, so RAM-201U is a C size arm.

The RAM® 75x75mm VESA Plate with Ball and Steel Reinforced Post (RAM-D-2461U-IN1) features a 2.25" D size rubber ball connected to a 3.625" steel reinforced square plate reinforced by a steel bolt, ideal for heavy duty mounting. The rubber ball is positioned 0.88" from the center of one edge.
