Every RAM® mount is built around a rubber ball and socket system. The ball size sets how much weight the mount can carry. Match it to your device for smooth adjustment with a rock-solid hold.

Reading part numbers

The letter after RAM tells you the ball size: RAM-B-166 uses a 1" B ball, while RAM-D-201 uses a 2.25" D ball. C size parts are the exception and carry no letter, so RAM-201U is a C size arm.

Overview

The RAM® No-Drill™ RAM-B-316-1U vehicle mount consists of the RAM® POD™ I base, 18” rigid aluminum rod, and B Size 1" ball socket arm. The base of the mount connects to your seat rail without any drilling necessary. The 18" rigid aluminum rod can be bent to position your device an ideal viewing and operating angle. For proper fit, make sure your vehicle has an appropriate bolt to mount the base securely. The RAM-B-316-1U is not compatible with 2014 and newer Chevrolet seats that have the seat hook system.

  • What is the diameter of the flex pole? Will it accept the .5” rail mount or small tough claw to hold a second phone?

  • Could you show how and where this attaches

    It attaches to the seat bolt under the passanger seat, you can see sample in gallery. Here are the mounting instructions.

  • How firm is the flex ability? Is it rigid enough to not fall over if you have an iPhone mount on top, when you go around curves and turns?

    The Flex Rods used in mounts like the RAM-B-316-1U are very sturdy and take a good amount of force to bend.  The weight of a phone won't bend them out of position or cause the mount to fall.
