Is this a B on one end and A on the other? Or A at both ends?

Thanks for checking in with us! This is compatible with an "A" size ball on both ends.
Can this accommodate slightly larger ball sizes or does it not have enough adjustability?

No, the RAM single and double socket arms are only intended to fit the size ball they're made for, in the case of the RAM-A-201U that ball is .56" in diameter.
Will this arm allow a 1" Ram ball on one end and a 17mm Ram ball on the other end?

Unfortunately we do not offer any components that are compatible with a 17mm ball at this time.
