The RAM X-Grip® has a clean and clever four leg design that sports great holding power without hiding your phone behind foam pads and plastic. This mount comes with the RAM Stubby™ cup holder mount. The durable composite shell construction and flexible support fins can be trimmed to size make this cup holder base a portable and versatile solution. The RAM ball and socket system allows for articulation at both ends of the double socket arm creating almost infinite adjustment and perfect viewing angles. Compatible with any vehicle cup holder with an inside diameter range of 2.57" to 3.5". The X-Grip® includes a device tether recommended for outdoor applications. The cradle is compatible with handheld devices that will fit the dimensions listed below. It is important to verify the dimensions of your handheld device with a case/sleeve/skin when determining the overall size.

Is this stronger than iBOLT Mounts cup holder mount?
The RAP-B-299-4-UN10U will hold a device up to 2 lbs, the Stubby Cup Holder base (RAP-B-299-4U) will fit in any cupholder between 2.57" and 3.5" in diameter. The fins of the Stubby Cup Holder base are flexible and will provide friction to hold the base in place in a cupholder that falls in the compatible range.

I noticed my phone can rotate back and forth when it is in the X-Grip. Is that normal?
That type of movement is totally normal for the X-Grip. When being used for less rugged applications the small amount of movement allowed is not an issue, but sometimes when traveling at higher speeds or in bumpy environments it can be. If that is causing problems in your application, it is best to use the safety tether which will prevent that type of movement by creating tension between the phone and backplate.
