CARDS Recycling, a leading waste management company in the Midwest, offers residential, commercial, roll-off, recycling and disposal services for homes, businesses and contractors alike. Additionally, they operate hauling companies, transfer stations, recycling centers, recovery facilities, and landfills.
The Challenge
CARDS operates a diverse fleet of nearly 200 trucks, including tractors pulling 53’ containers, automated side loaders, front-end loaders, and other specialized waste collection equipment. As part of their modernization efforts, CARDS aimed to streamline their operations and enhance driver productivity by integrating advanced technology into the fleet. The objective was to deploy mobile devices across the entire fleet to automate many of the drivers’ tasks related to waste collection. This automation would allow drivers to focus on driving while ensuring seamless tracking and recording of each service event. However, ensuring the tablets were both protected and easily accessible while on the road posed a significant challenge.
The Solution
RAM® Mounts emerged as the critical solution for deploying Samsung Tab Active4 Pro tablets to the entire fleet by leveraging durable tablet docks and protective cases. RAM®’s GDS® Tech™ & IntelliSkin® product lines provided the necessary protection and durability, allowing CARDS to confidently equip the entire fleet with the tablets.
Additionally, RAM®’s ultra-rugged double ball mounts made it easy to install the tablet docks in the variety of vehicle types CARDS has in their fleet. With the drill-down surface mount, tablet docks were installed directly to the middle of the dashboard in each vehicle, keeping them out of the way but still within easy reach of the driver. This strategic placement not only minimized distractions but also maximized efficiency in accessing the tablets.
