Overview
The RAP-SB-224-2-UN7U consists of a snap link, 2.75" diameter twist lock suction cup base and universal spring loaded X-Grip® cradle for cell phones. The suction cup, twist lock base is designed to have a strong hold on glass and non-porous plastic surfaces, including adhesive disks. The spring loaded X-Grip® cradle expands and contracts, allowing for a perfect custom fit of your cell phone. Combine RAM single socket technology for adjustment and the holding power of a twist lock suction cup and you've got a mount ready for the road and whatever vehicle you want to drive today. The X-Grip® includes a device tether recommended for outdoor applications. The cradle is compatible with handheld devices that will fit the dimensions listed below. It is important to verify the dimensions of your handheld device with a case/sleeve/skin when determining the overall size.

I noticed my phone can be rotated back and forth about 15 degrees when it is in the X-Grip. Is that normal?
That type of movement is totally normal for the X-Grip. When being used for less rugged applications the small amount of movement allowed is not an issue, but sometimes when traveling at higher speeds or in bumpy environments it can be. If that is causing problems in your application, it is best to use the safety tether which will prevent that type of movement by creating tension between the phone and backplate.

Will this mount work on both the dash and the windshield of a 2006 Honda Civic? And maybe on a plexiglass side window of an airplane too.
Yes, this will work on virtually any windshield and also any non-porous surface including plexiglass. Couple minor restrictions would be excessive curvature of the surface could make it difficult to apply suction, and it cannot be placed over any windshield defrosters, as those will cause air gaps and would lose suction. Otherwise this can go just about anywhere!
