Overview
The RAP-SB-187-UN7U consists of the RAM EZ-Strap™ base, double ball SHORT arm and universal X-Grip® cradle. The strap can be cut to fit tubing, square rails and irregular shapes from 0.5" to 2.58" in diameter. Multiple adjustment points allow you to move the universal X-Grip® cradle to your optimum viewing position. This mount rotates 180 degrees. The X-Grip® includes a device tether recommended for outdoor applications. The cradle is compatible with handheld devices that will fit the dimensions listed below. It is important to verify the dimensions of your handheld device with a case/sleeve/skin when determining the overall size.

I noticed my phone can be rotated back and forth about 15 degrees when it is in the X-Grip. Is that normal?
That type of movement is totally normal for the X-Grip. When being used for less rugged applications the small amount of movement allowed is not an issue, but sometimes when traveling at higher speeds or in bumpy environments it can be. If that is causing problems in your application, it is best to use the safety tether which will prevent that type of movement by creating tension between the phone and backplate.

Like what I've seen on videos. Looking to mount my cell phone to upper roll cage in Can Am SxS so it is in view while riding. (2-2.25 tubing). Is this complete? or do I need to order in pieces?
For this application we would recommend a double ball mount with either the large Tough-Claw base or Hose Clamp base. You can piece together these 3 components to build out the complete kit:
1. Holder: RAM-HOL-UN7BU
2. Short Arm: RAM-B-201U-A
3. Base: either RAP-B-401U or RAM-B-108B-STRAP40U
Tough-Claw (RAP-B-401U) is much bulkier, but also much easier to install, adjust or remove without the use of any tools. The hose clamp option (RAM-B-108B-STRAP40U) is a cleaner, lower profile design but takes a little more time to setup just right.
