Overview

The RAM locking knob, includes a brass 5/16"-18 thread, for 1.5" socket arms; this allowing you to disengage the screwing of the knob. Once you have set your mount in the location you need, you can lock it in place and feel safe that your mounted device will stay right where you left it.

Steel vs Brass Knobs:While both materials offer the same locking functionality, brass material offers more corrosion resistance making it more suitable for outdoor environments, while steel material is more cost effective but primarily recommended for enclosed cockpits or indoor environments. The threads in this knob contain brass.

  • What is the difference between B Size and C Size etc?

    RAM uses a letter designation like B and C to indicate the diameter of the ball being used or a double socket arm that's compatible with a given size.  The B size ball is 1" in diameter, the C size is 1.5" in diameter.  The double socket arms also use different a different size hex bolt to connect the two halves, meaning the B and C size keyed locking knobs are not interchangeable between different size arms.

  • We purchased this item, it came with Ram K002 keys. Do you sell the keys only so we could purchase some spares?

    No, there are not spare keys available.  The keyed locking knobs like the RAM-KONB5LU are supplied as a set and we are not provided with spare keys.
