I recently received my Ram mount (RAM-HOL-UN10B-A-379-M616U), and I found the thread length in the ball mount to be very short for my application. Do you have any similar ball mounts with longer thread length?
Upon checking the Rap-B-379U-M616 is the only threaded stud we currently offer.

I noticed my phone can rotate back and forth when it is in the X-Grip. Is that normal?
That type of movement is totally normal for the X-Grip. When being used for less rugged applications the small amount of movement allowed is not an issue, but sometimes when traveling at higher speeds or in bumpy environments it can be. If that is causing problems in your application, it is best to use the safety tether which will prevent that type of movement by creating tension between the phone and backplate.
