Is the diameter of the 24"L rod for p/n: RAM-B-316-1-24-202U the same as the rod used on p/n: RAM-316-1-24-202U? Is one more stable/rigid than the other?
Yes, the same 24" aluminum rod is used in both the RAM-B-316-1-24-202U and the RAM-316-1-24-202U. The "B" in the first part number indicates the product comes with a 2.5" diameter round plate with 1" diameter ball and compatible socket, the second part number (without the letter B), uses the same round plate but the ball is 1.5" in diameter and has a compatible socket. The larger diameter ball will support more weight, but that is the only difference between the two kits.
