Overview
The RAM-B-166-UN8U consists of a 3.3" diameter RAM® Twist-Lock™ suction cup base, medium length double socket arm, and the popular spring-loaded RAM® X-Grip® 7"-8" tablet holder. The RAM® X-Grip® features an 'X' design that expands and contracts to provide a perfect fit for your device – even if it's in a case. Included are easy access grip knobs located on the back of the cradle for quick release of your tablet. No matter what double socket arm and mounting base you pair the RAM® X-Grip® with, RAM® ball and socket technology allows for near-infinite adjustability to achieve the ideal viewing angle – while also extending the life of your phone by providing shock and vibration damping. The RAM® X-Grip® tablet holder includes a device tether recommended for added security and peace of mind. This version of the RAM® X-Grip® holder is compatible with tablets that will fit the dimensions listed below. It is important to verify the dimensions of device with its case, sleeve, or skin when determining the overall size.

I just purchased a Lenovo Tab M9 with dimensions WxDxH 8.48" x 5.38" x 0.31" Will this mount work? Weight is 0.76 lbs

I noticed my tablet can be rotated back and forth about 15 degrees when it is in the X-Grip. Is that normal?
That type of movement is totally normal for the X-Grip. When being used for less rugged applications the small amount of movement allowed is not an issue, but sometimes when traveling at higher speeds or in bumpy environments it can be. If that is causing problems in your application, it is best to use the safety tether which will prevent that type of movement by creating tension between the phone and backplate.

How long are the tabs that hold the tablet? My fold has a pen holder on back and need about an inch + to be able to hold the phone securely.
The length of the arms that come forward is about 7/8", which means this holder will not be able to support devices that require a thickness greater than 7/8".
