This is not compatible with the RAM-D-109HS-4U.
Is there a rectangular base this backing plate is compatible with?

Yes, either the RAM-347U (rectangular AMPS base plate with a 1.5" diameter ball) or the RAM-B-347U (rectangular AMPS base plate with 1" diameter ball) can be used with the RAM-202-225B-2U.
