Overview

The RAM® Short Double Socket Arm (RAM-B-201U-A) is a rugged short-length double socket arm compatible with B size rubber ball adapters and bases. With an overall length 2.42", this is the lowest profile RAM® double socket arm size. A single spring inside the arm pushes the two halves open as the arm is loosened, allowing for easy rotation of the ball and socket connection at both ends. This ball-and-socket technology allows for near-infinite adjustment and perfect viewing angles when used with RAM® rubber ball bases.

Reading part numbers

The letter after RAM tells you the ball size: RAM-B-166 uses a 1" B ball, while RAM-D-201 uses a 2.25" D ball. C size parts are the exception and carry no letter, so RAM-201U is a C size arm.

Is this part number able to accommodate both the B and C size balls?

No, this part is designed specifically for the B size 1" ball bases.
What is the assembly order of the washers if the arm is disassembled?

The assembly for the RAM-B-201-AS is screw through hex hole in 1 socket casting, add 2nd socket casting followed by the plastic washer, metal washer followed by the knob.
What is the difference between the RAM-B-201U-A and the RAP-B-201U-A?

The RAM-B-201U-A is made with Marine Grade Aluminum, and the RAP-B-201U-A is made of High Strength Composite.
Can I use a snap link ball (3/4) on one end and a B ball (1") on the other?
