Overview

The RAM® X-Grip® Large Phone Mount with Twist-Lock™ Suction Cup (RAM-B-166-UN10U) comes with everything needed to secure a phone to a windshield. This bundle includes the RAM® Twist-Lock™ base, medium-length double socket arm, and universal spring-loaded X-Grip®. The RAM® Twist-Lock™  suction cup is 3.3" in diameter and is designed to have a strong hold on glass and non-porous plastic surfaces, including RAM® adhesive disks. The spring-loaded RAM® X-Grip® phone holder allows for a perfect custom fit across phone models and small electronic devices through expansion and contraction of the arms. The holder features four grip knobs that attach to the arms for a secure hold; also included is a rubber device tether recommended for outdoor & high vibration applications. To ensure fit within the RAM® X-Grip®, it is important to verify the dimensions of the handheld device while within its case/sleeve/skin. The patented rubber ball and socket system with adjustment points at both ends of the socket arm allows adjustment to the optimum viewing position.

  • What surfaces is this suction cup compatible with?

    Suction cups work by creating a vacuum, so they require an extremely smooth surface. If the surface is textured at all air can get in and the suction cup with loose grip. Suction cup mounts work best against windows and highly polished metal surfaces.

  • Does this work for 2019 Honda Pilot?

    This is a universal suction cup mount and be used in and vehicle. 

  • I have a Ram-B-166-UN10u. What is the flat rubber piece and the glue tube for? There were no installation instructions.

    The quick-set adhesive included with this mount is used to glue the rubber caps to the ends of the X-Grip arms.

  • I noticed my phone can rotate back and forth when it is in the X-Grip. Is that normal?

    That type of movement is totally normal for the X-Grip. When being used for less rugged applications the small amount of movement allowed is not an issue, but sometimes when traveling at higher speeds or in bumpy environments it can be. If that is causing problems in your application, it is best to use the safety tether which will prevent that type of movement by creating tension between the phone and backplate.
